In realtà l'ultima partecipazione attiva di Masuda in veste di compositore risale a Platino! Nei giochi successivi compare solo in veste di compositore originale delle vecchie OST (soprattutto quelle delle battaglie), il cui arrangiamento nei nuovi titoli è opera di altri compositori della Game Freak: Go Ichinose, Hitomi Sato, Shota Kageyama (anche se quest'ultimo ufficialmente non è più alle dipendenze della Game Freak), Minako Adachi, Takuto Kitsuta e Hideaki Kuroda!
