Digital Foundry ha analizzato Splatoon 2:

• Splatoon 2 offers an adaptive resolution: it can go up to 1080p (higher than Wii U), but also lower resolutions like 1536x864 and 936p. The adaptive frame rate is for both docked and portable modes!
• The good news is that Splatoon 2 almost always runs at a higher frame rate than Wii U's 720p. It also runs at a smooth 60 frames per second! Also, the game is 1080p at all times in the main hub, though it's 30 frames per second to compensate.
• Character models in Splatoon 2 are more detailed compared to its predecessor; the same goes for environments, especially textures, shadows, and paint effects.

The Splatoon 2: Splatfest World Premiere demo is gearing up for the big event this weekend. The Japanese version has seen some changes, and it looks like construction is now underway for the rock vs. pop battle. This hasn't been reflected yet in the western version of the Splatfest World Premiere, but likely will be soon.

 

Despite being a demo, the Splatoon 2: Splatfest World Premiere has received an update. If you downloaded it previously, version 1.0.1 is now available.

Nintendo hasn't made any sort of patch notes available, so we're only left to guess what's new: given the small increase in version numbers, it's likely nothing too big. That being said, it does seem like theconstruction we mentioned for the Japanese demo is here now in the English version.

Informazioni relative allo Splatfest del 15 luglio: 

• players will be able to experience four different maps: during the first two hours of the Splatfest, gamers will be duking it out on Starfish Main Stage and Inkblot Academy.
• In the two hours after that, the Turf War will bring us to Moray Towers and Humpback Pump Track. There will be four weapons on offer: Tentatek Splattershot, Splat Dualies, Splat Roller and Splat Charger.

Aggiornamento dallo Squid Research Lab: "Manca così poco! Splatoon 2 arriverà su Nintendo Switch il 21 luglio, e non vediamo l'ora di immergerci nel gioco.

A proposito, lo Splatoon 2 Direct ha mostrato il centro commerciale 'Le Pinne' di piazza Coloropoli: va per la maggiore tra gli Inkling grazie all'ampia selezione di negozi, che offrono equipaggiamento e armi all'ultima moda.

Questo, per esempio, è Karma & Cappelli, ossia un negozio che vende copricapi: è gestito da Macalù, una lumaca che pensa sempre alla moda, proprio come noi dello Squid Research Lab! Non la conosciamo bene, ma gli Inkling del posto la considerano una specie di vecchia zia eccentrica.

Passando ad altro, questo è l'Atelier Celenteron di Cnidario: a differenza di gran parte delle meduse, Cnidario conosce la lingua degli Inkling, anche se non abbiamo idea di dove l'abbia imparata. Cnidario ha sempre vestiti di grido, quindi i clienti non mancano mai!

Adesso passiamo a Ezechele, che gestisce Carpe con i tacchi: scarpe da ginnastica, sandali e stivali. Gli Inkling ci tengono parecchio alle scarpe, quindi Ezechele fa buoni affari a piazza Coloropoli.

L'Antica armeria del buon vecchio Armand: è un esperto d'armi e, a dire la verità, non parla d'altro. Questa volta puoi isolarti dai suoi sproloqui premendo un pulsante. Spiacenti, Armand, ma abbiamo altre cose da fare!

Splatoon 2 has a new partnership with 7-Eleven that provides fans with exclusive gear in the game. Beginning on July 21, those who purchase certain products for the game will receive download codes for different items.
The gear is as follows:
Set 1 (purchasing the game, etc.)

• FA-11 Omote – Custom; gear: Bomb Defense Up.
• FA-11 Ura – Custom; gear: Cold Blooded.

Set 2 (purchasing merchandise)

• Splatoon 2 appears to dish out temporary punishments for repeated disconnects: after disconnecting online four times due to issues with their connection, player hypwnotic received a message! It warns that you'll be unable to play online for a while due to play sessions not ending naturally.

It could be a useful tool against ragequitters, but could be a problem with those with faulty internet connections. When playing online, you should try to make sure you're on a stable connection to avoid any potential issues.

Famitsu ha intervistato Hisashi Nogami (Producer), Yusuke Amano (Director), Shintaro Sato (Programmer) e Seita Inoue (Art Director). Di seguito alcune informazioni:

• weapons/stages from the original game were ported over without any changes, as far as actual models are concerned;
• everything was re-coded from scratch, so they're effectively new elements in their old shell;
• not all stages from Splatoon are added to Splatoon 2;
• only a selection of stages will be kept, and they will receive various modifications and adjustments;
• Splatoon 2 will have more stages than Splatoon, though they will be released one by one, on a regular basis;
• for TV mode, the game runs at 1080p, but the resolution may be lowered if there's a lot of ink on the screen;
• uses the same dynamic scaling system as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, scaling the resolution on the fly; 
• the team worked hard to make sure the game ran at a smooth 60fps at almost all times;
• in the original, the resolution was sometime lowered depending on the situation, but it's not the case in Splatoon 2; 
• the devs were able to use the CPU in an efficient manner, effectively reducing the amount of processing power required;
• everything related to gameplay, such as the battles themselves, run at 60fps;
• the rest runs at 30fps, such as the various elements in Inkopolis, just like in the original.

• no plans to add any rules to Ranked Battles;
• Splat Power was added to deal with the difference in skills between players who played the first game, and newcomers;

• Additional notes: this is the launch update for the game. It's highly likely you will need to download, and install it before you can even do anything online, even though you can already play online with version 1.1.0, because Nintendo is guaranteed to enforce version 1.1.1!

Informazioni relative allo Squid Fashion Contest 2017:

• Gear: you need to draw an Inkling with headgear, clothes, and footwear. It's recommended to also draw the Inkling from the back, especially if there's something interesting there, such as an insignia on the back of a uniform, for example.

Here's two examples:

• Graffiti: you just need draw an illustration for a graffit you think could appear in the world of Splatoon 2. The picture has to be at the following size: 1920×1080 (resolution 150ppi) for illustrations sent digitally, and 16cmx9cm (vertically) for those sent on paper. Also, the drawing must only include characters that could appear in the game, so no humans.

• In both cases, if you decide to send your illustration digitally, it has to be in one of the following formats: GIF, JPG, PNG (and max. 3 MB). Naturally, there are other restrictions: the illustration has to be original (not published anywhere), and your own. What's more, all rights regarding the illustrations are transferred to Nintendo for free, and you agree to them basically doing whatever they want with it.

• Fans can submit their entry from July 20th to August 10th. After that, members of the development team and the editorial staff at Famitsu will select the winning entry/entries for each category, and the results will be revealed in late September via the magazine and its website.
